A few years ago, I wanted to learn more about photography, mainly due to my interest in birds and other creatures in nature. I spend a lot of time outside trying to see how many different species of birds I can identify. Living in the Mid-Atlantic US, I have found that it contains a great variety of birds, as many Southern and Northern species of birds converge to make their home here, or just pass through the area on migration.

As I’ve gotten better cameras and had the opportunity to take some fun trips, I have also enjoyed taking pictures of places I visit, and even just stuff around town. When I am not taking pictures of birds and flowers and lizards, I try to capture the more unique details…partly so people don’t groan when I want to share my travel pictures :-). Instead of 10 of the same pictures of the Eiffel Tower, why not see different perspectives?
